Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth might be keeping their rekindled love on the down low, but Billy Ray Cyrus isn’t afraid to gush about it. The 54-year-old singer recently opened up about his daughter’s romantic relationship with Liam and even talked wedding details!

In 2013, Miley and her Hunger Games fiancé ended their romance and engagement, but earlier this year they reportedly started dating again. In fact, in January 2016 sources told E! News that they couple was officially engaged again (though the couple has yet to confirm, so we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions). Now, Billy Ray is opening up about his daughter’s relationship, and even though he made some offhand comments about weddings, there’s still no confirmation of an engagement.

“Here’s what I do know. They’re so happy,” Billy Ray told E! News. “That’s the main thing.”

Billy Ray continued to gush about his 23-year-old daughter and her happiness saying, “Miley and I, we always had this slogan, ‘If you ain’t happy, it ain’t working.’ Just seeing these — I still call ’em kids — these two kids happy, that’s all that matters.”

The duo has been spotted out together and Miley has been wearing her original engagement ring, but the “Hillbilly Heart” singer was still hesitant to confirm their relationship status. He did, however, make a few jokes about the possibility of an upcoming wedding.

“If any of my kids decide that they’re gonna have a wedding of any kind, whatever role they want me to play, I’ll be there, you know what I mean?” he explained.

“They want me to be the butler — that’s fine. Whatever they choose,” he joked. “I might make a good preacher.” Billy Ray does have a way with words, so being the officiant might not be the worst plan for Miley and Liam.

Although there is no official word on an upcoming wedding ceremony, Miley has also been seen spending time with Liam’s family and sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, as in the photo above. Plus, Chris Hemsworth also gave his little bro his blessing, should he want it. Maybe there will be wedding bells sooner than we all think.
