Get ready for your heart to be completed melted into a pile of gooey mush. Your daily dose of cute comes courtesy of Liel Ainmar Assayag and her cat, Panda. The 2-year-old adopted tuxedo cat has been looking over her baby (human) brother since before he was born.

When Assayag became pregnant, Panda refused to leave her side and guarded the bump with absolute devotion. Cuddling and purring with unborn baby Sean was Panda’s favorite activity. Say what you will about animals and their instincts, but it appears Panda definitely knew there was a little human growing inside her owner’s belly.

“Once I got pregnant, she started following me around the house, tucking her head on my belly, purring,” Assayag tells Love Meow. “Now, 3 months later, she jumps on the bed near him, smells him, sits next to him. You can clearly see she loves him from the beginning!”

After Sean was born, Panda continued her cat-mom duties by snuggling with her tiny human daily. Panda tucks her head on the baby just like she did on the baby bump before he was born.

There’s more than one cat in the house that’s dedicated to protecting baby Sean. According to Assayag, “The cats are not allowed in the baby’s bed when the baby is in the crib, but every time I put the baby in the crib I can see lots of cat fur all over the bed — they were guarding the bed for him. They call me at night when the baby is crying, laying down beside him to keep him safe…”

The unconditional love of animals is so special. Sean sure is lucky to have such amazing and cute fur-guardians to grow up with.
