As all cat parents and cat lovers know, our little feline friends love to play in basic cat houses like cardboard boxes and laundry baskets. Some devoted owners even purchase elaborate toys or hiding places for their cat to play in, and those cats are super lucky. But not all kitties have care and luxury in their lives, as there are millions of homeless cats on the streets.

There’s good news for those less fortunate cats, though! Architects for Animals is an organization that helps animals in need by building outdoor shelters, and they recently held an auction with a bunch of very practical and creative cat houses. All proceeds went to FixNation, which spays and neuters stray cats in Los Angeles. The cat houses were pretty slam dunk, so it didn’t take long for the cat/architecture lovers of the world to start going nuts on social media!

As if that didn’t make your cat (and you) jealous just now, get a load of this!

Or THIS, because it genuinely looks like it was designed by Picasso.

Or THIS! It’s like an elevated version of a cat scratch toy (sort of), with some nice sharp edges.

And then there’s the cat house that is just TOO CUTE for words.  Peek-a-boo! This one also looks like it could double as a piece of slick furniture, so it has our vote.

Okay, this has inspired us to go and construct something massive and complicated for our cat friends, since we can already feel their judgement from across the room. Or, you know, at least spend some quality time with them.
