As a kid — or heck, even as an adult now — did you go on vacation and think, “I wish I had all my video games with me?” If that thought has crossed your mind before, you’re in luck. Pack your bags, because we’re going to The Arcade Hotel, which is exactly what it sounds like.

This brand new hotel in Amsterdam is built all around video games. As their website clearly states, the idea behind it is: “Thelonious Monk meets the Eames couple meets Marty McFly and they all have a drink with Captain Sparrow. Gaming, mid-century design and a lot of heart & soul under one roof.” We like the sound of that.

Owner Daniel Salmanovich explained to VG 24/7, that he remodeled the hotel “into a special place for people who love gaming. I wanted to create a place where travelers and gamers feel like they are staying at a friend’s home.”

What will you find inside when you book a room for a night, or three? First off, video games, of course. But not just recently ones. No need to bring your own retro game controller, because The Arcade Hotel has you covered.

Down in the lobby and at the bar, you’ll also find more controllers, making this a prime place to play multi-player games, and also meet some new friends IRL (instead of just via the Internet). Once you’ve played all the games, there’s also a comic book library, because of course there is.

And, don’t forget, you’re staying in Amsterdam, so you’re going to want to explore the city eventually. The Arcade Hotel has a “bikegantomatic (and yes we just made that word up) fleet of bikes” for you to rent, when you tire of staring at a screen all day.

The rooms can sleep up to four, so ready your other players friends and book the next flight out. This video game adventure awaits.
