An anonymous student made 1,500 Valentines for their entire school, and our hearts are melting
Congratulations! If you are reading this, it means that you made it through another Valentine’s Day (also commonly known as Single’s Awareness Day) which can sometimes be hard. While being single on Valentine’s Day can have major benefits, it can also be an annoying day when your newsfeed is filled with people’s sappy love messages when you really just want to see some silly memes.
But Valentine’s Day can also be a great opportunity to make the people in your life feel loved though, and one high schooler did just that when they anonymously gave Valentines to every student at the school. That’s 1,500 Valentines!
Oh yeah, and they were HANDMADE. *mic drops*
It happened at Troy High School in Troy, Ohio, where one student began making the origami hearts all the way back in September. Because, y’know, they’re the most thoughtful angel in the world. The high school’s original Facebook post shared a picture of each locker decorated with a colorful heart taped to its door. The caption read,
A follow-up picture posted on THS’s Facebook page included the caption stating,
The Facebook post now has 3.4K likes and over 2K shares and that’s no surprise because this is one of the most heartwarming things a high schooler has done since Damn Daniel! (Just kidding, this is way, way sweeter.) Apparently students at other schools had similar ideas, as various teachers shared on Twitter this Valentine’s Day.
Who doesn’t love getting a handwritten card reminding them that they are loved and important? Umm, nobody. Knowing that students are doing these sweet random acts of kindness (ah, good ol’ RAKs) makes us feel a lot better about the future.
