Hillary Clinton made history yesterday. Supporters all over the country have been sharing their stories about why Clinton becoming the (presumptive) first ever female U.S. Presidential nominee is so very important.

Amy Schumer reposted a personal and inspiring story that writer/comedian Megan Amram shared on her Instagram. In the post, Amram explains what her mom went though to become an independently successful adult. She broke through barriers and fully supported herself through her endeavor to become a doctor while raising two kids completely on her own.

This post, along with countless others, confirms that Clinton’s victory isn’t just a personal victory — it’s a victory for all women everywhere.
