The new HBO documentary, Montage of Heck, out May 4, will offer fans a closer look at Kurt Cobain’s tragically brief, wildly intense and deeply productive life. But for those who want even more intimate look at how Cobain lived, they can bunk in the old Los Angeles apartment he shared with Courtney Love. The pad is currently (and remarkably) up for grabs on AirBnb.

Kurt and Courtney lived there from 1991 to 1992. Granted, it’s not exactly a ’90s time capsule anymore; the place has changed a lot in the last 24 years, but there are still remnants of the legendary couple’s stay strewn throughout.

According to the apartment’s current tenant, Brandon Kleinman, Kurt not only stayed there at the height of his career, but also during the height of his painting phase. “There’s latex painting over the fireplace,” Kleinman told Vulture. “I know there’s tons of art painted on the actual mantel of the fireplace. I want to see if there’s a way to get under the layered paint, to see what he painted under there.” I think we’re all nodding our heads “YES” to that.

Kleinman has also tried to unearth the original wood flooring, but to no avail. “I tried to get to the original hardwood floor in the hallway, but I can’t,” he says. “It’s damaged because the bathtub leaked while Kurt and Courtney lived here. That’s why they moved out. I’ve been told that he wrote ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ in that bathtub.”

Although advertised as “Kurt Cobain’s private 1b + 1bth,” the unit itself is 1500 square feet with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Located in LA’s Fairfax district, the apartment is smack dab in the middle of one of the most walkable areas in town. Since news broke, the bedroom has since bounced from $150 to $290/night. It’s fair to note that the owner of the apartment will be present during your stay!

Check out the spot for yourself on AirBnb. We can imagine that space is now becoming limited, so plan accordingly Nirvana fans!
