One of the most popular movies right now hasn’t even been made yet. The Harry Potter spin-off prequel, Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them is something we are very, very interested in. It will take place 70 years BH (Before Harry) and follow magizoologist Newt Scamander on an adventure through New York City. Newt will be played by Academy Award-winning Eddie Redmayne, but who’s going to play his young friend, Modesty? Oh, just one of the thousands of girls who showed up over the weekend to audition for the part.

An open casting call was held at the ExCel exhibition center in London for girls between the ages of 8 and 12 to show off their acting chops, and also wizarding skills — OK, hasn’t been confirmed that Modesty is in fact a wizard, but like, if given the option to be a wizard, she should be a wizard. Modesty is being described as “a haunted girl with an inner strength and stillness” who has the “inner power to see and understand people.” Sounds like a fantastic young wizard to me.

The Daily Mail reports that girls looking to audition started lining up as early as 3 a.m.! The line snaked through an indoor area, and then wrapped around outside as well, completely full of hopeful young actresses. The BBC first estimated that there were over 10,000 at the audition, but that number later jumped closer to 25,000, as the line grew longer, and wrapped even further around the building.

This is the role Luna Lovegood herself, Evanna Lynch, encouraged everyone to audition for, and it sounds like literally everyone, and then some, took her advice. Ultimately, the part will only go to one young talented actress. According to the BBC, the team behind Fantastic Beats was hoping to find that one girl at this open audition, so now it’s time for the waiting game. Did they find their Modesty? What connection will she have to Newt? Is she a wizard? Can this movie just open already? I want, no, need to see it.

While we’re certainly excited for this, want to know who’s the most excited? J.K. Rowling, of course.

We’ll all get to meet Modesty ourselves, along with Newt and all his other friends, when Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them opens on November 18, 2016.
