It has been a truly incredible year for film: From action blockbusters like Jurassic World and Mad Max: Fury Road to beautiful indie films like The Diary of a Teenage Girl and Carol, it’s safe to say that 2015 did not disappoint. With the long-awaited Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming out this weekend, and Jennifer Lawrence’s badass new flick Joy later this month, it’s safe to say that the year will end on a high note — and we can’t wait.

In order to celebrate this monumental year for cinema, YouTube user JoBlo Movie Trailers decided to combine all of the year’s best into one epic, 8-minute trailer. Edited by Nick Bosworth, the video is all kinds of amazing — and features moments both heartbreaking and hilarious. It’s hard to believe that Ted 2 would make sense next to Beasts of No Nation, yet somehow, it’s perfect.

“As always I have traversed through hundreds of different films across all genres and I have to say that 2015 was an exceptional year for film overall,” Bosworth writes in the caption. “So please accept this mashup video as my thanks to all the movie fans out there and also to the cast, crews and studios who make these films possible. You’ve all earned your rightful place in Valhalla.”

Given how diverse this year’s offerings were, the video works surprisingly well — and it’s a perfect homage to both the films and the people who made them. Check out the “trailer” for yourself below.
