Tyra Banks is recording a new “Be a Star” song for “Life-Size 2,” and karaoke will never be the same
When news first broke that iconic Disney Channel movie Life-Size was getting a reboot, 2000s girls everywhere FREAKED OUT. The movie, which originally starred Lindsay Lohan and Tyra Banks, was all about Banks’ doll come to life, Eve, helping Lohan’s character, Casey, learn to let go and love. Back in 2017, it was announced that the movie was getting a reboot at Freeform that would air in December 2018. And now, there’s even more to be excited about: The upcoming sequel to Life-Size will feature one very important musical number.
We’re getting a “Be a Star” remix (of sorts) for Life-Size 2, and it’s definitely going to be a bop!!!
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Banks said, "I am going to dust off my retired vocal chords for Life-Size 2. I’d love to find a top producer that everybody knows, like a household name, to do the music. And a beautiful sound technician to auto-tune the hell out of my voice."
But that’s not even the *best* part.
According to Banks, the new version of “Be a Star” — which could be a remix, or have new lyrics — will have a more grown-up vibe to it. “We’re going for club banger as opposed to nursery school rhyme this time!” So, like, everyone should prepare to sing this at karaoke, because it’s sure to be F-I-R-E.

Obviously, fans of the original DCOM would also love to see Lohan reprise her role as Casey — and that includes Banks herself.
Back in 2017, when the Life-Size reboot was first made official, Banks told E! News that she would be seriously happy to have her costar join her. “Every time I see her she gives me a hug like it was back in the day, like she’s 10 years old again. I would love for you to come back and do something for Life-Size, will you? Will you?”
We certainly hope so! Fingers crossed that this reunion actually happens.
