Bumble is using Spotify to help you find a S.O. with good taste in music

Yes, opposites may attract, but we have to disagree when it comes to certain topics. I mean, it’s cool if our partners have different tastes and opinions from us, but there are some things we’d like to have in common with any significant other who comes into our lives. For instance, it would be nice if we both enjoyed the same music – so we could listen to the same tunes around the house and attend the same concerts on dates. Luckily, both Bumble and Spotify understand what we mean.

“Music says a lot about who we are as people and connecting culturally can serve a foundation for creating meaningful relationships” stated Whitney Wolfe (CEO and founder of Bumble), according to Tech Crunch. That’s exactly why the two companies have partnered, so Bumble users can display the Spotify music they listen to right on their profiles.

Previously, Bumble users were able to write down their favorite artists on their profile, but this update seems much more efficient (and legit, since there’s proof a person actually listens to a certain artist). Plus, from a potential match’s profile, you can easily click on an artist’s name and be taken directly to Spotify so you can listen to more. Hey – if you don’t end up falling in love with another human, you may at least fall in love with their taste in music.

You may be freaking out right now if you tend to listen to guilty pleasures, but do not worry. There will soon be an update that allows Bumble users to hide certain artists from those who may be peeking at their profile. This is especially significant since about 1.1 million people use Bumble for approximately 100 minutes per day, which means that all these individuals now have another way to search for their soulmates (and keep their musical tastes private, if they so choose).

Most importantly, just think of all the possibilities! If Spotify can work with Bumble, imagine all the other companies who will want to form a similar collaboration in the future. Soon, we’ll have dating down to a science (a fun science, hopefully).
