Leslie Mann said her husband Judd Apatow isn’t funny, and her explanation is hilarious

During a recent visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, funny lady Leslie Mann joked about her husband Judd Apatow’s sense of humor. The couple is well-known for their hilarious movies. But, she said they’re not actually all that funny IRL.

In fact, she said that she doesn’t even find her husband funny.

And that response, of course, required some explanation.

The issue came up because Colbert and Mann were discussing parenting styles. Colbert said his kids take his non-comedian wife more seriously than him. So naturally, in a house with two comedic personalities, he wondered which one the kids might listen to more.

Her initial instinct was that her two kids, Iris and Maude, probably take her a bit more seriously. But then she second-guessed herself.

She said, "I don't know. We're not like funny around the house...I don't find Judd that funny."

Even as she said it, she trailed off and started laughing. Colbert, and the rest of the audience, obviously got a kick out of that response.

Mann immediately apologized, making it clear her hubby obviously does have a great sense of humor.

Just, you know, not all the time.

It’s totally understandable that these two performers wouldn’t be “on” all the time. And it’s probably good that she keeps her mega-successful husband grounded.

Besides, he was backstage at the time and probably got a kick out of the comment.

At least, we hope so.

Mann went on to talk about how she and her husband are currently on a Goop detox. And that type of commitment is no joke.
