Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie have questions for Leonardo DiCaprio about THAT Titanic scene

More than 20 years after Titanic hit theaters, we’re still debating whether or not Jack Dawson’s death was justified. After all, it sure seems like Jack and Rose both could have fit on the door that helped them escape from the ship’s wreckage. We diehard ’90s cinema fans may never get an official answer to that question, but that hasn’t stopped us from trying. And apparently, we’re not the only ones who take issue with the way Titanic ends. Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie recently tried to get Leonardo DiCaprio to weigh in on the issue. Stars, they’re just like us.

Pitt, Robbie, and DiCaprio currently star together in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywoodand, on July 15th, the three costars sat down for an interview with MTV News. Interviewer Josh Horowitz took it upon himself to probe into the Titanic issue, asking, “Could Jack have fit on that door at the end of Titanic?” Robbie at least seemed to think so.

"Oh my gosh, I thought it," Robbie told Horowitz. "I remember bawling my eyes out when I was a girl."

"Could you, could you have squeezed in there?" Pitt asked DiCaprio. "You could've, couldn't you."

DiCaprio kept a poker face throughout his castmates’ prodding, saying simply, “No comment.”

But DiCaprio’s neutral reply didn’t stop Robbie from asking if he had suggested making the door smaller to help the scene seem more plausible. DiCaprio’s response?

“Like I said, I have no comment.”

Twitter, on the other hand, was full of comments.

While some insisted that the door was big enough for two, others argued that it wouldn’t stay afloat with both Jack and Rose on top.

It looks like this movie controversy will continue to haunt us. For now, though, we definitely have our theories.
