So, a ’90s Leonardo DiCaprio doppelgänger lives in Sweden

You guys, I cannot even begin to explain to you what a big deal this is to me.

If you have never met me or talked to me or read anything I have ever written, I am going to start this out by saying that I really love Leonardo DiCaprio —a lot. No, not in the I-love-his-Oscar-memes way, but in a way that is deeper than any real love I will probably ever have in my life. Which I am totally OK with.

Leo is so important to me that I have spent like a billion dollars going to see Titanic in the movie theater. He is so important to me that my faded poster of the 1997 hit is still up in my bedroom, even though I am approaching 30 years old. He is so important to me that my year is ruined when he isn’t nominated for an Oscar and it really isn’t funny to me when he loses the years he is nominated. Look —I just really, really love the guy.

As I have gotten older, Leo has gotten older too. Funny how that works, right? Well, I was only 10 years old when I was first introduced to Leo and he was something like 22. Though I always appreciate age and beauty and I definitely do not think that people have ever really hit their peak (hello, have you met Judi Dench or Helen Mirren?), I can honestly say that ’90s Leo was my favorite Leo.

And if you need a reminder of what ’90s Leo looked like, I am happy to show you. Behold:

Of course I love him the most in Titanic, but I super love him in Romeo + Juliet and yeah, I even love him in The Beach. I don’t know if it’s because I am stuck in a whirlwind of nostalgia, or if he really was the most attractive in 1997. Whatever the reason, I loved him then. I love him now, but I really, really loved him then.

This was all a really long introduction to let you know that Leonardo DiCaprio has a doppelgänger, but more specifically, the ’90s version of Leonardo DiCaprio has a doppelgänger. As reported by Vanity Fair, Konrad Annerud is a 21 year old bartender and musician (you can listen to his EP on Spotify) from Sweden who looks, well, exactly like Leo.

Are you freaking out? I’ve been freaking out. As told to nyheter24.se, Annerud is well aware of his look-alike (I mean, he has 22.5k followers on Instagram). All the time, he hears that he looks just like our ash-blonde superstar, even to the point of irritation. Annerud explains that it annoys him when people call him Leo, but ultimately, he appreciates the comparison. BECAUSE DUH, WHO WOULDN’T? The situation gets out of hand when Annerud travels, apparently. Speaking of his recent trip to Italy, Annerud explained:

We all like a good doppelgänger story, but this one is one of the most exciting and strangest I’ve ever come across.

He looks so much like Leo that I expect him to spit off the side of a ship, or be stuck in an elevator with Matt Damon, or run away from Tom Hanks in an airport!

Welp, bye guys! I guess I’m moving to Sweden.
