Lena Dunham opened up about how the stress of the election made her lose weight, and we get it
We’ve all had experiences where stress can seriously impact your life, and now Lena Dunham has said the stress of the election meant that she lost weight, and we get it.
Lena Dunham is pretty busy at the moment. Her show, Girls, is set to launch its sixth and final season this month, and the star has been busy promoting the show while continuing to inspire us and speak about things that she feels passionate about, while continuing to talk about feminism. Oh, and she also got new ombré hair that we’re low key obsessed with.
However, now Lena Dunham has opened up about the impact that election had on her, and we can all relate to it in some way.
Dunham, who was a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton, dropped by Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show to promote the upcoming final season of Girls, where she spoke about how Donald Trump’s election had impacted her weight.
"Donald Trump became president and I stopped being able to eat food, she said, after Stern commented on her slimmer figure. "Everyone’s been asking like, ‘What have you been doing?’ And I’m like, ‘Try soul-crushing pain and devastation and hopelessness and you, too, will lose weight.'
Continuing, Dunham went on to speak about her opinions about the current President, and revealed that Trump once called her a “B-list actor with no mojo.” The writer and actor also clarified her comments that she made where she stated that she’d move to Canada if Trump won the election, saying that at the time a Trump win “seemed like an impossible joke” that “would never happen.”
“I was like, ‘The most qualified candidate we’ve ever had is running against a steak salesman. We’re going to be fine,’” she continued.
Despite her protestations, however, Dunham recently opened up about how she hoped people would stop critcizing Donald Trump on his appearance. “I wish less people would talk about how Donald Trump’s hair is bad and how he has a small penis, because he has such worse problems than that,” she said.
Meanwhile, the sixth season of Girls is set to premiere on Sunday 12th February 10/9c. on HBO.
