Lena Dunham appears un-photoshopped on Nylon mag, and we support this body-positive trend

It is our hope that one day, everyone will feel comfortable in their own skin, and Lena Dunham is paving the way for that hope to become reality one day. The Girls creator has been very vocal about her feelings toward body positivity, body acceptance, and she’s against any form of body shaming and that’s why we love what she just said on Instagram.

The 30-year-old star is the February cover girl for Nylon magazine and the cover shot is pure beauty, color, and happiness — and didn’t try to alter her body with any retouching because she’s perfect the way she is.

Dunham took time to thank the magazine and praise them for helping her feel more confident about her body but not insisting the image be changed at all.

“For the first time in my career, posing for pictures feels honest and joyful, she writes. “Maybe that's being 30. Maybe that's demanding to be seen for who I am, teensy stomach moles on pale rounded stomach and all. Thank you beloved @nylonmag for introducing me to so much style and content over the years, and for embracing me in my totality on your cover. I'm feeling v blessed and highly favored.

The magazine introduced the cover image on their Insta account writing, “Our February cover is here! And we’re thrilled to have feminist powerhouse and queen of controversy @lenadunham gracing it.” Adding, “We met up with Dunham in L.A. and talked about the emotional rollercoaster that is the final season of Girls, self-awareness, our current political climate, and more”

We love both Dunham and Nylon for being body positive and this is what we’re hoping to see more of in magazines.
