Lena Dunham took over Hillary Clinton’s Instagram, awesomeness ensued
If you can’t wait for February 21 return of Lena Dunham’s Girls, don’t worry. The 29-year-old showrunner is taking over screens everywhere—via Hillary Clinton’s Instagram!
According to Entertainment Weekly, Clinton’s campaign handed the reins over to Dunham while she tours New Hampshire on the Democratic candidate’s behalf. What’s more, she’s being joined on the campaign trail by recently retired World Cup champ Abby Wambach.
And we have to say, as a master of social media, Dunham is already killing it on Hillary’s Instagram by sharing her super patriotic outfit choices…
…putting on her serious face while being utterly dwarfed by Ms. Wambach…
… and chatting it up with Hillary supporters.
Dunham has more or less endorsed Clinton since she announced her decision to run for the presidency in April, even ‘gramming a photo of herself with a Hillary bumper sticker between her teeth during a visit to Clinton’s campaign headquarters in Brooklyn. When people claimed Dunham was only supporting Clinton because she’s a woman, she called their claims ‘misogynistic BS.’ “Women are smart enough to make decisions based on a number of factors: policy, track record, campaign strategy,” Dunham responded on Instagram. “Yes, I think it’s time for a female president but I’m not part of a witch’s cabal that senses ovaries and suddenly MUST VOTE.” Since then, the Girls star has interviewed Hillary one-on-one for her weekly newsletter, Lenny, and continues to show unwavering support for the “grand dame” of politics. (Maybe, Dunham will enter politics when Girls completes its sixth and final season.) With Dunham yucking it up on the campaign trail and a historic Planned Parenthood endorsement on her side, there’s just nothing stopping Hillary Clinton this week. Let’s conclude with some amazing outfits that didn’t make it to the official Hillary-gram, but that Dunham had to post on her own personal account because COME ON, just LOOK at them.
