Patrick Warburton is our new Lemony Snicket!

Do you enjoy the sweet sounds of Patrick Warburton voice? You know, this deep and powerful one? If you answered yes, then here’s some unfortunate news: Warburton has just been cast to play narrator Lemony Snicket in Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events!

This newest Netflix series will follow the events of Lemony Snicket’s tale (the pen name of Daniel Handler) about the Baudelaire children — Violet, Klaus and Sunny — as they try to uncover the mystery behind their parent’s death, and also thwart Count Olaf who is after their family fortune. Olaf is being played by the unstoppable Neil Patrick Harris, with Supergirl’s Malina Weissman and newcomer Louis Hynes playing Violet and Klaus (and Sunny is a baby).

The news of Warburton’s casting is like the cherry on top for this perfect future binge. According to TVLine, not only will he narrate the series, but he’ll appear in it as well. That means, this will be the first time we truly get to see a portrayal of Lemony Snicket. Jude Law voiced him in the 2004 movie, and while we saw his outline typing, we never saw his face.

There’s no official date for when this show will land on Netflix, but rest easy, it’s currently in production right now. And the sooner it gets here, the more fortunate it will be for us.
