Internet sensation Lele Pons reveals the key to her success, and proudly asserts she is latina and proud
Lele Pons is an internet sensation. With more than 15 million followers on her Instagram account and nearly 4 million subscribers on her YouTube channel – Lele Pons is a comedian, content creator, pop culture icon, influencer, and proud latina. She first came into popularity for her short format comedy on the now defunct Vine platform – becoming the first person to reach one billon loops!
The comedy content creator is more than numbers, she uses her platform to identify and voice stories of others. She teamed up with #1 New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz (The Isle of the Lost) to publish her debut novel about the ups and downs of high school.
Now, Lele has been named as one of the 25 Most Powerful Women of 2017 by People en Español. In an interview, she mentions her success derives from being humble:
"Instead of being a snob and not helping, I am like: hey listen, I am exactly like you, you can even do better than me."
Lele Pons was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1996. Her dream mentor is Shakira. Her go-to-karaoke song is “Gasolina’” by Daddy Yankee. She was named one of TIME‘s Most Infuential Teens in 2015.
