Lea Michele took home this Cory Monteith momento when ‘Glee’ wrapped

Lea Michele has starred in Glee for nearly six years, so when her on-and-off-screen boyfriend Cory Monteith passed away in 2013, she decided the best way to keep his memory alive was to be open about her feelings as she dealt with the pain.

Just a few days ago, she posted several sweet photos on Twitter as the show wrapped up its final episode:

In this heartbreaking shot, Lea walks across the empty lot carrying Cory’s Jersey, a symbol that all of those years working and being together meant the world to her.

This isn’t the first time Lea and the rest of the Glee family has paid tribute to Cory. His character, Finn Hudson, received a fitting farewell in the super touching episode, “The Quarterback.” Lea belted out Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love” in the episode, not just for Finn, but for Cory. It is a Glee moment fans will never forget.

Outside of the Glee universe, Lea wrote a song for Cory, titled after the last words he ever said to her. “If You Say So” is a heart-wrenchingly beautiful ballad. Warning: Listening to it may cause spontaneous crying.

Lea has always made it clear that she’s Cory’s biggest fan. In 2013, she told Elle Magazine, “We had a full life, and that had lots of different details that will be ours forever, for only us to know.” Excuse us while we go sob a little. Lea is amazing and strong and we’re sending her lots of love as her Gleechapter comes to a close.
