Lea Michele confirmed she’s pregnant with a sweet photo, and Glee fans love this connection to Rachel Berry
After a flurry of reports, Lea Michele has officially confirmed that she’s pregnant. Though she didn’t give many details, she announced that she and her husband, Zandy Reich, are expecting a baby with a photo on Instagram. Not only is this happy news for Michele, but Glee fans are absolutely loving its unexpected connection to the musical show.
Michele announced the baby news yesterday, May 3rd, with a super sweet photo of her holding her pregnant belly. “So grateful,” Michele captioned her photo, using only a yellow heart emoji to complete the post.
But the pic speaks for itself, as the actress is clearly pregnant. More than 1.6 million people have already “favorited” the post. Celebs like Emma Roberts, Ashley Tisdale, Nikki Reed, and new mom herself, Maren Morris commented with their love and congratulations.
“Aw congratulations, mama!” Morris wrote. Michele’s Glee costar Naya Rivera also sent her love: “Aww congrats. I love this. You’re going to be a great mommy.”
In a prescient moment, the Glee series finale revealed in a flash-forward that Michele’s character, Rachel Berry, would be pregnant in 2020.
After reports of her pregnancy started buzzing, Gleeks on Twitter noted the connection to Rachel.

Michele and Reich got engaged in April 2018. She shared the news—and a close-up photo of the ring—on Instagram.
The couple met at Michele’s best friend’s wedding, TV executive Stephanie Levinson. Reich was best friends with the groom, and they were seated at the same table, according to Insider. Now that they’re married and there’s a baby on the way, their love story is the true rom-com that Rachel Berry would have loved.
