Lazy Girl’s Summer Beauty Guide
I can admit, summer brings out a case of the beauty laziness in me. Who wants to spend countless hours blow drying their hair and applying a full face of makeup? Definitely not I! Summer is supposed to be carefree, fun and somewhat wild (maybe more than somewhat). You shouldn’t feel imprisoned each morning or night with hours of getting ready to do.
Here are some awesome summer beauty products for those of you who are like me and want to spend less hours getting ready and more hours poolside!
Bead Head Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo $20.00
Dry shampoo is a summer must have! Whether you’re looking to make your style last another day or you’re simply trying to avoid the whole washing process, dry shampoo is your answer! Spray this little gem at the roots of your hair to absorb access oils and to give your hair a fresh scent. (There is nothing worse than dirty smelling hair!)
Dirty Secret will also give your hair added body and volume and will not leave any white residue behind. Washing your hair less will actually improve the health of your strands as well as prolong color treated hair. Who knew that being lazy with washing your hair this summer could actually be beneficial? This dirty secret is out!
Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer $8.00
Too lazy to even lay out in the sun? If you’re anything like me I have a hard time laying still, in extreme heat, long enough to even see some color. I am that girl that wants the tan but doesn’t want to work for it. Self tanners are my vise! I steer far, far away from tanning salons and use self tanning lotions instead to get my glow.
Jergens is a line that has been around the block and back, and I think they have come a long way with their formula. It is finally free of that nasty self tanner odor and gives a really natural, streak free glow. If you find Jergens doesn’t work well for you there are many other self tanners on the shelves to test out, but Jergens is definitely the best for the price!
Bumble and bumble. Surf Spray $25.00
A salt spray is another lazy girl beauty must for the summer! Do you wish you had the perfect mermaid, beachy, fresh out of the ocean waves? A salt spray will give you the effects of the ocean, in a bottle. Simply spray B&B’s Surf Spray into your hair while wet and let it dry naturally.
Can it get any easier than that? I’ve found the seaweed extract in this spray makes it less drying for your hair than most other salt sprays. This one also gives really beautiful waves and has great hold. With this spray it’s safe to say you can put away the blow dryer until fall!
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara $9.00
Even on my laziest summer days I will still put on some light mascara. Just a coat or two of mascara can make your eyes pop enough to make you look presentable even when you’re not really trying. The awesome thing about this mascara by Rimmel is that it doubles as a mascara and a lash treatment in one.
The lash treatment Grow Lash Complex within the mascara will overtime give you 80% longer looking lashes. SO in theory if you start using this mascara now, by July you might not even need anything on your lashes! You could potentially have the most fabulous looking natural lashes just in time for your July festivities.
Jane Iredale Glow Time Mineral BB Cream SPF 25 $48.00
I know, I know, if you’ve read my last two posts you’re probably saying “Enough with the BB creams!” BUT I could honestly rave about them day and night. A BB cream is perfect for the laziest of girls. You can literally put a BB cream on your face and be done for the day. Simple as that! With the SPF that most include, you would be covered enough to hit the beach until sunset. Majority of the BB creams that you will find have awesome coverage and will last all day (but again they vary depending on the brand).
This BB cream in particular is my absolute favorite and I wear it daily. I like that it is full coverage without the cakey-ness. This BB also evens out skin tone and makes your complexion glow. This BB is your full coverage, moisturizing, flawless go to and it comes in 6 different shades. If you’re looking for the simplest of makeup routines for the summer, go BB.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil $4.50
These jumbo eye pencils are perfect to add a touch of color to your eyelids without the fuss of using eye shadows and brushes. Just a swipe or two of the pencil over your lid and you’re set. This one step pencil glides on so effortlessly and makes getting ready so much quicker! If you’re looking to add a little more dimension, use an NYX Roll On Eye Shimmer over top of the jumbo eye pencil! My favorite combo is the Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt and the Roll On Eye Shimmer in Salmon. With these two together, you’re eyes alone will make for an unforgettable summer night!
