Laurie Hernandez won “Dancing with the Stars” and we can’t stop cheering!
This news is almost too much to handle, because we’ve been cheering for Final Five member Laurie Hernandez on Dancing with the Stars since we first heard she was competing, and now we feel like proud moms because the olympic gymnast just vaulted to victory!
As in, Laurie and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy just won Season 23!
There have been so many amazing moments, from their first cha-cha to Bonnie McKee’s “American Girl,” to performing a Pasodoble-style dance to Katy Perry’s “Rise,” and even those rehearsal videos where we got to see the effort, emotion and passion that Laurie poured into every movement.
We know that the competition was hard at times, but she pushed through and dazzled the world with her signature smile!

And when Laurie was announced as the winner, her words were graceful and inspiring as always.
"I just want to thank everyone for their support and riding along this crazy roller coaster of my life. My goal is just to inspire others as I go on with my journey and thanks for being there for me."
Awwwww. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, girl!
She also posted this heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking her dance partner Val and all her supporters.
"WOW. First off, I want to thank the amazing @iamvalc . Not only were you my dance partner, but you were my role model and big brother too. Because of you I've grown as a person the past 11 weeks. You pushed me out of my comfort zone and I can't thank you enough for that. WE DID IT!!"
