Lauren Jauregui surprised fans with her first solo material during a concert in Brazil, and Twitter is on fire
Ever since Fifth Harmony announced an indefinite hiatus in March 2018, we’ve been waiting for Lauren Jauregui to drop that solo album. Though she’s branched out on her own before (Jauregui was featured on Halsey’s “Strangers” in 2017), she finally debuted her new solo material last week during a concert in Sao Paolo, Brazil, and Twitter has lost its damn mind.
Jauregui revealed new songs “Toy,” “Inside,” and “Expectations” on June 6th, 2018 during the Latin American leg of Halsey’s Hopeless Fountain Kingdom world tour, and according to Billboard.com, this was also Jauregui’s first ever solo-performance in a concert venue.
Jauregui was thrilled at the response to her first batch of solo music.
"When they already know the lyrics to your unreleased song that you played for the first time yesterday talk about surpassed #expectations," she wrote on Instagram after the concert.
When Jauregui — along with her fellow Fifth Harmony bandmates Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, and Dinah Jane — announced their break, they said it was because they all wanted to pursue “solo endeavors.”

For Jauregui, that time is now.

Though she debuted three new songs (and reportedly wrote the tracks herself), the fan-favorite is definitely the sultry R&B ballad “Expectations.”
