Lauren Graham reading from her new book “In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It” is the Lorelai Gilmore pep talk you need today

If we could pick any celebrity to be our big sister, it would be Lauren Graham, hands down. She would always know exactly what to say and have the perfect piece of advice to share for any situation. Lauren Graham is the kind of person who can simultaneously help you shop for new shoes, prepare for a job interview, and compose a text to send to your crush. Basically, she’s our favorite human being. Which is why we’re so excited that her new book, In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It, is out today, April 3rd!

Graham is already a New York Times bestselling author. Her novel Someday, Someday, Maybe and her memoir Talking as Fast as I Can have prime positions on our bookshelf. And now, we’re thrilled to add her third book to the shrine. In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It is an expanded version of the commencement speech she delivered at her own Langley High in 2017. She offers important life advice about encountering setbacks, finding confidence, defining success, chasing perfection (don’t!), and finding joy (do!). But her main message? How to stop worrying so much. Because believe it or not, Lauren Graham, too, once had no idea what she was doing.

“Back on this day in 1984, if you had to guess who’d be giving the graduation speech in 2017, you’d have named thirty to four hundred people before you got to me,” Graham writes. “So if you’re kicking yourself for not having accomplished all you thought you should have by now, don’t worry about it. People bloom at different stages of their lives, and often more than once.”

Graham wrote her commencement speech for 18-year-old graduates who are hungry for the next chapter of their lives but also a little scared of the unknown. The beauty of the book, however, is that it’s really for anyone. “To graduates and other hopefuls,” the dedication reads. So whether you’re 18 or 98 years old, there’s most definitely some wisdom for you in this small but mighty book.

Every sentence of Graham’s new book is quotable, relatable, and inspiring.

You’ll take a picture of every page to both send to a friend and save for later.
