Take a peek inside the late Carrie Fisher’s eccentric home before her decor goes to auction
Carrie Fisher’s personality was bright, bold, and everything in between, so one would expect her home to reflect that. Turns out such an expectation is completely on-point. We know because Fisher’s eccentric home decor and collection of Star Wars memorabilia is going up for auction on September 23rd. And Good Morning America just gave us a peek into the wild world Fisher called home.
Fisher’s Beverly Hills hacienda-style estate boasts pink and yellow walls, a huge year-round Christmas tree, a wall of “ugly children,” and fan-made art in almost every room. Her mother, the late Debbie Reynolds, lived next door to her for 16 years and frequently visited.
Both mother and daughter acquired quite the collection that will now go into the hands of friends, collectors, and fans.
The Profiles in History auction house website notes that over 1,500 lots from the Fisher and Reynolds’s estate will be on the auction block. The auction itself is expected to be a multi-day event. Todd Fisher, brother to Carrie and son to Reynolds, told the site,
"My mother and sister were magnificent collectors, they amassed an amazing and diverse collection in their lifetimes. The size and scope of their collection rivals most museums. So in keeping with my mother’s wishes we have decided to share part of their magnificent collection with all their friends and fans."
He told GMA that many of Carrie’s collectables — like her Kachina dolls, which she displayed in her office — were pieces from their childhood and, specifically, from their Palm Springs childhood home.
Some of the items up for sale include Fisher’s life-size “Princess Leia” statue housed inside a wooden telephone booth; Reynolds’s silk chiffon dress from her onscreen Singin’ in the Rain number, “You Were Meant For Me”; and Fisher’s on-set director’s chair from Return of the Jedi.
This eclectic collection is truly spectacular.

Portions of the auction’s proceeds will be going to both Debbie Reynolds’s charity, The Thalians, and The Jed Foundation, a charity chosen by Carrie Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd.
The first day of the auction will be held on September 23rd at the Profiles in History location and online. It’s something you certainly won’t want to miss.
