Larry David is a grouchy superhero in this new “Curb Your Enthusiasm” trailer
He’s BAAACK! And no, we will NOT curb our enthusiasm!
HBO recently released the teaser trailer for Season 9 of Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, the hilariously neurotic television series created by and starring everyone’s favorite grumpy old man, and all we have to say is: Preetay, preetay, preetay good!
The criminally short clip (even L.D. would agree!) smash cuts street images of Los Angeles after dark, spotlighting some of the sites — like Al Abbas Original Best Chicken — where David has carried out his most outrageous acts of etiquette-busting (and side-splitting) vigilantism, complete with dramatic, superhero-inspired music, moody lighting, and… a predictably put-off Larry David. Of course.

But while David may resist the call to action in the latest sneak peek for the show’s upcoming season, there’s no stopping the series once it returns to HBO in October. A master class in improvised comedy, in the past, the series has featured the on-the-fly funny of David’s real-life friends and fellow comedians, including Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Julia Louis Dreyfus, Jerry Seinfeld, and more.

But it’s the return of David’s portrayal of his fictionalized — and hysterically flawed — self that has fans freaking out. In short, Curb Your Enthusiasm‘s Larry David is all of us.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to binge-watch Seasons 1 through 8. Maybe we’ll throw a few Saturday Night Live! Larry David-as-Bernie-Sanders clips in there, too.
