Lance Bass revealed how *NSYNC really feels about the “It’s Gonna Be May” meme

We love it, but do they love it too? When asked about the “It’s Gonna Be May” meme, Lance Bass reveals what actually happens amongst the bandmates when the month gets close. Obviously, we know how Justin Timberlake feels — after all, this month he responded to May 1st pretty humorously through Twitter, reminding his fans that the month was upon us. But what about the other guys?

Entertainment Tonight caught up with Bass at the Race to Erase MS Gala, and the question was definitely on their minds.

"We've had a group text for years, and this time of year it's really funny," Bass said. "We find the best memes, the most embarrassing ones of all the other guys, and yeah, it's fun."

Embarrassing memes? Aw, come on, Lance. Your band was one of the best parts of the ’90s!

Of course, he did mention that “embarrassing ones” included pretty much any photo of himself during the decade.

We disagree. But hey, he lived it, so he’d be the best authority on this.

We’re so happy to hear that the band definitely has a sense of humor about the whole thing. If you’ve never seen the meme, it relates to the song “It’s Gonna Be Me,” which was released in 2000. During the song, when Timberlake belts out that classic line, “me” sounds a lot like the month of the year. Since the internet exists, the meme took off pretty quickly.

The main thing we learned here is that the band still has a group text. We’d seriously pay money to see what kind of fun texts and memories the guys share today!
