Lana Condor saying goodbye to Laura Jean and To All The Boys I Loved Before will make you cry
Looks like Lana Condor is retiring her Laura Jean scrunchies. The actress shared the swell of emotions she felt after wrapping the end of the second and third installments of the To All the Boys series with a sweet goodbye note on Instagram.
If you (like us) hung onto every charming exchange between Laura Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky in Netflix’s To All the Boys I Loved Before, you’re in for quite the treat in series’ next two installments, according to the Condor’s thoughtful post.
“Words will never be able to describe the long nights on set, where it would suddenly hit me, like a ton of bricks, that I was getting the honor of portraying a girl so fiercely determined in love, who represents strength in softness, she wrote in the caption of her on-set photo.
Her portrayal of the lovable, doe-eyed high-schooler from the Netflix adaption of the eponymous novel by Jenny Han skyrocketed 22-year-old Condor and co-star Noah Centenio to wide spread fame. After all, Laura Jean is the kind of quick-witted, charming young woman we can all relate to, with a vulnerability and appreciation for love we can all get behind.
When we last saw her and Peter Kavinsky, they were sharing a swoon-worthy kiss on the football field, finally succumbing to their real feelings for each other in a moment that has us all releasing a collective “awww.” And based on Condor’s Instagram post, there’s still much to come.
To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, the franchise’s second film, is set to release on February 12, 2020 (just in time for Valentine’s Day), while the release for the third and final movie, To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean, has not yet been announced.
Condor signed the note as a true love letter to her character, the movie, and, of course, the fans saying,
"Words will never be able to describe my gratitude to YOU, for loving her as much as I do. For tying your hair up in a scrunch and saying 'let's do this.' Thank you from the very bottom of my heart, you've made me feel like the luckiest girl alive. Always & Forever, your Lara Jean."
We can’t wait to see what’s in store for our favorite teen romance.
