Lady Gaga posing on the grass before the Super Bowl is like, the definition of slayage
She tumbled through the air, she performed a decade of hit singles in under 12 minutes and, most importantly, queen Lady Gaga posed on the grass before Super Bowl almost as if to say “hey, if you haven’t been paying attention so far, you might wanna come back in the room for this one.” Her halftime show (ahem, the “Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime Show,” to get it totally accurate) had everything; fleets of dancers and a dancing audience, fireworks, costumes, a phone that looked like a shard of glass, and even some subtle winks and nods to the current social climate. But before all that? She got down on the terf and posed her tight little butt off — Gaga style.
It’s the equivalent of the at-home selfie before you go out for the night — Lady Gaga posed in the grass before knocking our socks off in one of the greatest halftime shows to date.

…but did you spot this?
Obviously she’s fearless, but we don’t know many pop stars who would sit their ass right down on the ground in order to take some glamour shots. But then again, she’s not like any other pop stars we know, is she?
The artists’s preshow look was a miniskirt with its own super long train and a mock t-neck with some super voluminous sleeves. All black everything, down to the pumps — and have you ever walked on grass in heels? Wait till you attend your next outside wedding this summer and you feel that dreaded sinking feeling with every step. Gaga wins the Super Bowl just because she opted for heels. This is serious compromise.

Modesty is key, even if you’re Lady Gaga. Sure, she appeared in her knickers just minutes after this shot, but for now, she’s covering up in front of the camera. She is Lady Gaga, after all.
Boom. That cape of a train and those simple yet statement glasses. Time to wow the world!

That costume change, that miracle head of hair from nowhere (seriously, didn’t she start the show in the air with a type of Bowie-style mohawk? And then finish it out with a full head of rockstar mane? How!? When!?) that punchy little salute to Woody Guthrie (“This land was made for you and me,” the song famously recites); it was all just perfect. And that’s something, considering last year’s show was Beyoncé. Would you wanna follow that? Us neither.
