Lady Gaga’s performance at the 2018 Grammys was absolutely *perfect*

Lady Gaga was one of the first performers to kick off the 2018 Grammys, and as predicted, she blew everyone away. The pop superstar was nominated for two awards for her album Joanne, and we couldn’t wait to see what she had planned when she took the stage. Gaga kept things unexpectedly simple, but it worked — her performance was incredible, and it didn’t need anything else.
Gaga’s performance happened at the very beginning of the night, as she took to the stage only a few minutes after the opening act of Kendrick Lamar, Dave Chapelle, and U2. Clad in a beautiful gown and amazing glittery makeup, Gaga sat at a piano that was covered with white angel wings. Mark Ronson stood in front of her playing guitar.
She started her performance with a quick dedication, saying, “This is for my father’s late sister, Joanne. This is for love and compassion, even when you can’t understand.” She then started singing “Joanne” while playing the piano. At the end of the song, she said, “Time’s Up,” (referring to the movement) and went into “Million Reasons.”
Gaga is known to put on a show, and sometimes all of her costumes and props can distract from her talent – this performance reminded everyone just how incredible she really is at what she does. Her voice was beautiful and powerful, and really brought the house down. Is it too early to start counting down to her next tour?!
Fans were just as thrilled with Gaga’s performance.

So glad Lady Gaga now just SINGS and no longer feels the need to wear live ocelots on her head. But damn, this was gorgeous. #GRAMMYs pic.twitter.com/HAlG3bcnMc

1. I love it when it’s Lady Gaga and a piano and we get to hear her voice for real.
2. She can play too.
3. Although I’m scared of birds, those wings were cool.#Grammys— Melinda Doolittle (@mdoolittle) January 29, 2018

Aside from performing, Gaga was nominated for two awards at the show: Best Pop Solo Performance for “Million Reasons” and Best Pop Vocal Album for Joanne. She is a six-time Grammy winner already, and we can’t wait to see if she’ll win again tonight.
Earlier in the night, Gaga’s huge pink diamond engagement ring was the thing that had everyone talking. Wearing custom black Armani Privé black lace jumpsuit with a dramatic black skirt, Gaga showed off the huge ring she’s been seen wearing for a few months. It was recently reported that Gaga and Christian Carino secretly got engaged over the summer. false
We’re excited to see what else is in store for Gaga tonight.
