Lady Gaga is BACK! Listen to her new song “Perfect Illusion” here
The day has finally arrived. After what feels like a lifetime of teasing, Instagram posts, cryptic website codes, and much, much anticipation, Lady Gaga is BACK!
Her new single, “Perfect Illusion,” is the first proper pop song we’ve had from the eccentric singer since the release of her album Artpop in 2013. Since then, Gaga has released a collection of jazz standards with the legendary Tony Bennet, joined the cast of American Horror story as a serial killer, and worked on an important anti-sexual assault song with Diane Warren.

“Perfect Illusion” is a collaboration with Mark Ronson, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Queen of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme on guitars, and producer-du-jour BloodPop. The track is a pulsing guitar lead alt-pop bop that really showcases Gaga’s vocal ability. There’s even a key change!

While little is known about the singer’s upcoming fifth studio album (#LG5), Gaga revealed to the UK’s Radio 1 this morning (September 9th) that the collection had been executive produced by Ronson, and will feature collaborations with Beck, Father John Misty, and a duet with Florence Welch (aka Florence + the Machine). Similarly, she confirmed that the record would be released at some point in 2016.
Sharing the first time she heard the song on radio on Snapchat, Gaga can be seen crying, and we totally feel her emotion. It must be so overwhelming to hear what you’ve worked on for months finally on the radio. false
