Lady Gaga treated LGBTQ youth to a concert and a shopping spree because she’s seriously amazing

While most of us spent our Black Friday hustling for bargains at the mall, Lady Gaga decided to do something a little different. Instead of buying thing for herself, she decided to give back.

Yesterday, Lady Gaga spent her Black Friday at the Ali Forney Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Named after Ali Forney, a gender nonconforming teen who left home at 13 and was murdered in 1997 after spending his life helping others, the Ali Forney Center is committed to providing housing for LGBTQ youth and helping them prepare to succeed on their own.

The LGBTQ community has long been close to Lady Gaga’s heart. So it makes total sense that she would spend her day there.

During the day, Gaga treated the homeless youth center to an impromptu concert. Her performance of “Million Reasons” was totally heartwarming, as was everything else she had to say. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJBs5NO4Iyg

The popstar had another special surprise up her sleeve, too. She had presents for all of the kids and even lead them in a group meditation.

"I'm here today not because I had to excruciatingly pull time out of my schedule to come be here," Gaga said according to iHeartRadio. "I'm here because I want to be here. And I'm here because I want this to affect other people around the world, and to remind them that when they are kind, it not only makes the other person feel good, but it makes me feel good too.

Seeing Lady Gaga give back warms our greedy Black Friday hearts — and makes us want to donate at least some of the swag we scored yesterday.

Thanks for being such an inspiration, Gaga! Keep being your best, most amazing self.
