Lady Gaga just addressed all those Bradley Cooper romance rumors head-on
It’s been four days since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s Oscars duet, and the internet still really, really wants the two friends and co-stars to be a real-life couple. But Gaga herself finally addressed the rumors and speculation head-on, telling Jimmy Kimmel that their performance was supposed to look steamy. Gaga appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, February 27th (bringing her first Oscar with her in a chic black bag). When Kimmel wondered aloud what was “going on” between the duo, Gaga rolled her eyes and cleared the air about all those pesky internet rumors.
"Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see," she said. "This is a love song, "Shallow." A Star Is Born is a love story. We worked so hard, we worked all week on that performance. [...] From a performance perspective, it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time."
She added, “Look, I’ve had my arms wrapped around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world. When you’re singing love songs, that’s how you want people to feel.”
Shutting down the speculation, Gaga finished by saying, "I'm an artist, and I guess we did a good job. And fooled ya!"
