Oops! Kylie Jenner may have gotten her tattoo artist in trouble

It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with Kylie Jenner‘s tattoos, so this news is a little concerning. See, the reality star/makeup mogul got a touch-up on Saturday at Manhattan’s West 4 Tattoo, along with a brand new design. Then she decided to do some work of her own and tattooed a “K” on the arm of her artist, JonBoy, documenting it all on her Snapchat. Unfortunately, that’s not exactly okay.
According to the New York Daily News, giving a tattoo without a license is a violation of the New York City Dept. of Health and Hygiene’s code, so West 4 Tattoo could be in hot water if the department gets wind of these Snaps.
Some might call it an honor to be tattooed by a famous person, but we all know we’re supposed to be OVERLY safe when anything involving needles. Still, the tattoo parlor is adamant that there was nothing dubious about the process. “My professionalism and my tattooing — I don’t take it lightly,” JonBoy told the Daily News the next day. “I wouldn’t put anyone in harm’s way. People who tattoo me are closely supervised.”
So far West 4 Tattoo has not heard from the department. But the last time Kylie gave a tattoo at a parlor — Bang Bang Tattoos on the Lower East Side — they likely received a warning and fine, reported TMZ.
Maybe Kylie Jenner should go ahead and get her tattooing license? After all, she’s got great taste in ink!
