Kylie Jenner’s prom date really wishes she would call him
Prom is a pretty big deal for most people, but it’s not exactly life changing for most of us. For rising senior Albert Ochoa, aka the guy who took Kylie Jenner to prom, though, his life has been different since the high school rite of passage. First, the photos from Ochoa’s prom went viral, then fans of the now 20-year-old Jenner got to see the whole thing play out on Life of Kylie — the star’s new spinoff show.
Since prom, Ochoa has appeared on E! News and accrued 22.4K Instagram followers. But! he has not heard from his famous date since the big event.
In an interview with Teen Vogue this week, Ochoa revealed that he’d love to hear from his reality star prom date, saying, “It would be nice to hear from her!” Awww, cue Drake.
While he hasn’t heard from Jenner since their big night together, Ochoa reached out to her on Twitter to wish her a happy 20th birthday. false
The backstory to this whole fiasco is that Ochoa had asked someone to Rio Americano High School’s junior prom, but was rejected. So his friends posted on social media about their dateless pal needing someone to go to prom with him, and Jenner of all people took note. She also took Ochoa’s date-search as an opportunity to attend her first prom, since she was too busy building a million-dollar empire to attend her own when she was 16.
The rest is history.
In the Life of Kylie clip that shows him learning that Jenner will be accompanying him to prom, Ochoa’s reaction is super cute and genuine. Who would ever have turned him down in the first place?!

It looks like Ochoa, Jenner, and Jenner’s BFF, Jordyn Woods, had a great time, and it seems that Ochoa is *officially* the coolest guy in school. He told Teen Vogue, “After prom, everyone wanted to be my friend. I never expected so much attention in one night.”
He’s settling into his newfound popularity just fine, and enjoying the ride. He told Teen Vogue that he’s enjoying speaking to people around the world, and he’s even tweeted about wanting to start a modeling career. false
We really hope that Jenner calls Ochoa eventually, but it seems like there are plenty of people out there who wouldn’t leave him on read (or decline his prom invite).
