We should talk about the mystery surrounding Kylie Jenner’s new Lip Kit name

Given how thoroughly their lives are documented on television and social media, it seems not much in the Jenner-Kardashian clan is left to mystery. That is except for Kylie Jenner’s newest Lip Kit.

The latest offering in her collection of liquid lipstick and lip liner duos is a curiously orange-hued Lip Kit, titled “22”, according to Kylie’s website. The product is expected to launch on Monday, and will likely be met with the same demand of her previous kits, which sell for $29.

Though the 18-year-old teen star is just a few years shy of 22, her fans can’t help but wonder about the meaning behind the name. Is this a partnership with Taylor Swift?  A total transformation of the brand? It’s certainly a transition away from the names of her former kits which have consistently included the use of the letter ‘K’, including Koko K (an ode to Khloe), Candy K and Dolce K. While the meaning behind the name is unclear, the success of the Lip Kits is not. All six varieties have sold out within minutes of their launch, and a number of Hollywood makeup artists have sung their praises, using them on clients like Olivia Munn and Christina Aguilera, People reported. Kylie also recently launched Kylie Cosmetics this year to complement the kits and keep the business growing.

According to Bustle, Kylie first teased the new color on her social media accounts on Friday, and asked her followers to take a stab at guessing the name. We have to give them props for being creative, with submissions like “Pumpkin K” and “Tyga K.”

I don’t know if I’m brave enough to rock an orange lip, but we love the bold look.
