Kylie Jenner called out Kim Kardashian West for being a “bully” to Jordyn Woods

On June 30th, the second installation of the two-part Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 16 finale aired, and it delved into the now infamous Jordyn Woods-Tristan Thompson incident. The episode showed the Kardashian-Jenner reactions to the story when it happened in February. In the episode, Kylie Jenner spoke out against her sisters’ treatment of her then-friend Woods on social media, saying “I don’t think anyone deserves this.” And Jenner called out sister Kim Kardashian West in particular.

During the episode, Jenner referred specifically to a video her sister posted back in February when news first broke that Woods and Khloé Kardashian’s then-boyfriend Thompson kissed at a house party. In the since-deleted video, Kardashian West and friends sang along to Brandy’s “Who Is She 2 U” and Nivea’s “Don’t Mess With My Man.” Jenner called the video an example of being a “bully.”

"I saw the Snapchats and stuff of you guys singing, and if you want to call her, yell at her, do what you want, but let’s all talk in person," Jenner told Kardashian West during a phone call. "But like the singing and internet stuff, it’s just not okay."

“Jordyn hit me last night, was like, ‘Hey, do you mind if I come get some things from the house?’ She got her things, she came in, and just the look in her eye, she’s just obviously really going through it,” Jenner said while audibly breaking into tears in the episode. “I just don’t think anyone deserves this. We should express everything to each other in person, however we feel.”

According to People, Jenner added, “I just feel like we’re bigger than this, we’re better than this,” Jenner also told Kardashian West during the call. “I feel like call her or talk to her in person…We just don’t need to bully anyone.”

Meanwhile, Jenner, unlike her sisters, kept her opinions about the situation off social media.

“I definitely can get petty sometimes,” Kardashian West admitted in last night’s finale. “Kylie’s right. I got caught up in the moment.”

Later, after Woods appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, Jenner seemed to take sides with her sister, Khloé. “I don’t have answers for everybody,” Jenner said, according to Elle. “All my concerns are for Khloé.”

For her part, Woods spoke about the Kardashian-Jenner family’s reaction to the incident with Pinkett Smith.

"They're putting their focus on a young black woman who made a mistake, and not a mistake that's worth public persecution," she said on Red Table Talk. "The first few days of this were definitely the hardest. I couldn't eat for days. I would just try to sleep and hope that I could wake up and this wouldn't be true."

This situation is messy, and it’s most likely going to take some more time for wounds to begin to heal and the Jenner-Woods friendship to be restored. However, we agree with Jenner that social media pile-ons and bullying is never okay. Perhaps we’ll see bridges starting to be rebuilt in Season 17.
