Kylie Jenner just explained the totally valid reason why she’s not going to college
Kylie Jenner, the eighteen-year-old member of the iconic Kardashian family, has been thinking hard about the next steps in her life. She’s launched her own lip kit, two clothing lines, and app all before the age most kids graduate high school, and still has an entire future ahead. Turns out, she future doesn’t include college. At least, not yet.
While most 18-year-olds are eagerly awaiting their college acceptances, Jenner has made it clear the high-school-to-undergrad pipeline is not for her. “I’m not going to college,” she told Interview magazine. “I have done everything to prepare for college, so if I wanted to in the future, I could go at any time. But I’m not planning on going anytime soon.”
That’s totally okay! Education is super important, but sometimes our dreams take us out of the classroom and straight on into the School of Life. “If I could do whatever I wanted, I would have a successful makeup line, and I would want to hopefully start more businesses, and just be, like, a businesswoman,” she continued. Luckily, Jenner is in a position where this is pretty much already a reality. Almost everyone in America knows her name, and she’s already worked hard enough to prove that she’s a reliable investment.
However, her dreams aren’t all glitz and glam. Sometime in the future, she hopes to step out of the limelight. “When I’m, like, 30, I want to go off the map,” she explained. “Have a family, and live in Malibu with a farm, and just raise my own chickens.”
Honestly, that sounds like the dream. And who knows! Maybe sometime in between she’ll find that thing she really wants to study further, but right now, she’s content. “I’ve done so many things that most 35-year-old women still haven’t done,” she pointed out. “You can look at anything glass-half-full or whatever. Like, yesterday I realized that I’m 18, I’m a female, and I have accomplished so much. I live in a beautiful home and I work really hard, so I’m just grateful.”
