Kylie Jenner just got super body positive on Instagram and it was amaze
This weekend, as Bustle reports, Kylie Jenner posted a behind-the-scenes photo shoot pic of herself in a bathing suit to Instagram which, in and of itself wasn’t that newsworthy. I mean, have you guys SEEN an episode of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”? There’s a bathing suit and a photo shoot in basically every episode, and I say that with all the love in my heart for that escapist-fun reality show.
What was cool was how Kylie originally captioned that bathing suit pic. The photo first ran on Insta with the accompanying caption “behind the scenes. (yes I gained weight there I said it so u don’t have too) :).” Kylie later changed the caption to simply “behind the scenes,” which is completely her prerogative, it’s her Instagram, but we really did love the original text. Bodies change. People gain weight. It’s a thing. Rather than treat the gain as a shameful secret, Kylie just put it out there, owning her body and its changes, and refusing to let trolls use her weight as a weapon against her.
As we all know, the Kardashian and Jenner ladies are under constant scrutiny. Again, have you ever seen an episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians?” That’s basically EVERY episode of the nine seasons of the show. Kylie especially has been placed under the microscope a bunch recently. After the #KylieJennerLipChallenge took off on social media in April, earlier this month Kylie went on record stating that her plump pout was in fact due to temporary lip fillers. Combined with this recent Instagram admission, it seems like Kylie’s M.O. as of late has been to deny nothing and own everything, and that’s a pretty empowering way to walk through the world.
We love the one-piece Kylie is wearing in this Insta shot, but what we really love is seeing the confidence that comes from owning one’s body and one’s look. It’s pretty inspiring stuff.
