Krysten Ritter served up Elvira vibes at the Gotham Awards

Krysten Ritter gave us very cool throwback vibes at the 26th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards, rocking a dress that made her look just like Elvira.

If you’re not familiar, Elvira was the main character in the comedy horror film Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, released in 1988. She was originally played by actress Cassandra Peterson.

Wearing a long black gown with a thigh-high slit (maybe channeling Angelina Jolie?) and red lipstick, the Jessica Jones star looked like a modern version of the iconic film character. Honestly, all she was missing was the towering beehive hairstyle.

Dark and stylish totally works for Krysten, IMHO.

That leg slit tho!

Jessica Jones was nominated in the Breakthrough Series — Long Form category at the Film Awards this year, although Crazy Ex-Girlfriend nabbed the win.

Jessica Jones fans are impatiently awaiting news of the Netflix original’s return. The Season 2 air date for Jessica Jones is still a mystery, with rumors saying it might be early next year, or even in 2018.

“This is definitely a departure from your typical superhero-genre show. This is a dark, gritty, rounded, psychological character study,” Krysten said about the show in an interview on TODAY. “She’s a total badass. She’s a mess. She carries the weight of the world around with her. So, for me, it’s so fun.”

No definite word on what we can expect in Season 2, but stay tuned!
