Kristen Stewart is going to play Coco Chanel: All the YES
Kristin Stewart has already been the face of Chanel. Now she’s going to have the opportunity to actually be Chanel.
Brace yourself: The American Ultra/Twilight/On The Road actor has been tapped to play Coco Chanel in an upcoming short film directed by Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director. The fictional biopic will have Stewart playing Coco during her younger years. The role will then be picked up by the gorgeous Geraldine Chaplin when Chanel hits middle age. Laura Brown, editor at Harper’s Bazaar, will also make an appearance in the film playing the role of a journalist, natch.
Stewart previously told People what it was like working with Lagerfeld, saying, “Really, his image is in contrast to what it’s really like to be around him. There’s something almost unapproachable and f—ing chic … And then you meet him and he’s actually an incredibly creative and voracious liver.”
This isn’t going to be the first time Stewart has worked with Lagerfeld. The two actually worked together on some of Stewarts Chanel campaign ads. Of course, this time the magic is going to be on video. Just take a look at this video Lagerfeld made with Keira Knightley. Stewart’s video is going to be a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
According to WWD, the film will premiere on December 1 at Chanel’s Métiers d’Arts. We hope they don’t wait too long to post it online!
