Kristen Bell doesn’t know why people always ask her this question

She’s been pretty busy these days, that’s for sure. But don’t ask Kristen Bell how she manages work and her home life. In fact, that’s a question the actress always hates answering. Why? Well, because in her eyes, she doesn’t necessarily have it all together.

Bell was interviewed for Redbook‘s October issue and admitted that it’s important to know that striving for perfection is somewhat of a difficult challenge — especially as a mom.

"Being asked 'How do you do it?' implies that a) I am doing it, which I am not — I am doing what everybody else is doing, which is trying their best, and b) What is a balance, anyway? A balance teeter-totters. It moves, something gives and other things take, and other days it might be the opposite," Bell said.

That’s definitely important to remember. Especially since a lot of us put a lot of pressure on ourselves to make everything work, all of the time.

In Bell’s eyes, imperfection is a beautiful thing. And she thinks it’s a key reason as to how we all feel connected. Since we always love the chance to vent to our dear friends about a day that went wrong, we truly agree. After all, nobody really bonds over having perfect days.

It can also be why we relate so deeply to Bell. She, like the rest of us, has flaws that she embraces.

"I believe in showing your dirty hands and your bumps and bruises and your faults, because that’s what makes people feel connected," Bell said. "Isn’t that kind of the purpose of, you know, being on Earth?"

Next time we feel a bit down about things not going our way, we’ll think back to Kristen Bell’s incredible logic. Without imperfection, the world would be a pretty dull place.
