We are giving Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard a Prom King and Queen crown for their outfits alone
In any noteworthy ’80s teen movie, there’s a drama-filled prom where the fashion and hair take up most of the set space. The drama usually revolves around who is going to win Prom King and Prom Queen, and the claws come out when disagreement with the crowning explodes on the dance floor. But after seeing Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s glam prom getups, we think everyone will be in agreement that they deserve the titles of King and Queen.
Dax looked dapper in a gold tuxedo jacket while his date stunned in an electric hot pink and black tulle extravaganza. And like every fashionable ’80s prom fashionista, Bell matched some hot pink to her gown.
The ultimate class couple were not actually attending the Senior Prom of 1986. Instead they were dressed up to celebrate talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres’ 59th birthday with comedian Tig Notaro.
Bell and Shepard appeared as guests on Ellen before helping DeGeneres dole out gifts to her audience later in the show. Leave it to Ellen to give instead of receive, right?
When on the couch, Bell talked about her Golden Globes ensemble, which had a plunging neckline that required more than just a little tape. Shepard shared that he had no idea there was that much going on “behind the scenes” of the dress. He said that Bell’s boobs are just like “white noise” and that he wouldn’t have even noticed if anything had slipped.
“They’re just boobs,” Bell shrugged. True that.
Bell also confessed that thanks to her hubby, she finally had the chance to meet her celeb crush, Riz Ahmed. Plus, Shepard played wingman to his wife when he saw Ahmed at the Golden Globes and told him about Bell’s crush.
