Kourtney Kardashian get surprisingly honest about co-parenting with her ex Scott Disick
When it comes to having your life on air for the world to witness, we think it’s fair to say that sharing some subject matter can feel pretty vulnerable. For Kourtney Kardashian, parenting her three children while filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians isn’t always easy. As she tells You! magazine, parenting like a normal family can get really hard “when there are cameras in your face all day.”
She admits that when the show started, she was reticent to have the kids be on camera at all, but eventually caved because she wanted them to “feel free to run about where they wanted” and fully enjoy their home. We can definitely imagine how draining and stressful it is to parent three young children —adding cameras into the mix, we’re sure, only amplifies the possible stressors and headaches. Even if that’s the life/career you chose, it sounds exhausting and tricky.
What situation has the potential to be even more stress-inducing than parenting on a hugely popular TV show? Co-parenting. That’s right: Kourtney opened up about what it’s like to co-parent with her ex Scott Disick. If you watch the show, it’s clear to see that the couple put a lot of effort into keeping the family bond together and setting a positive example for their three kids. As Kourtney tells You!, she finds co-parenting “really easy.”
Communication, Kourtney says, is key to good co-parenting and a true necessity as kids grow up. “As the children grow older, the rules need to be renegotiated,” she explains, suggesting that as kids transition into different phases and developments, you need to revisit the standards and rules at home and keep them on an even path, whether they’re with one parent or another. We think it’s safe to say that Kourtney and Scott are on the right page when it comes to their approach to co-parenting and trying to make their children’s lives as normal as possible.
