This Korean Sephora will be your new beauty obsession
We admit it: We’re kind of obsessed with K-beauty. K-beauty, short for Korean beauty, has been experiencing a huge wave of popularity stateside and it’s so easy to see why. The products are highly effective, super affordable, and well, they’re just packaged so darn cutely.
If you’ve been jonesing for an animal face sheet mask, an apple-scented cream that comes in an apple-shaped container, or a pore strip in the shape of a pig’s nose (omg, adorable), K-beauty has got you covered. And luckily, we’re finally getting the Korean version of Sephora in the U.S. Yassss!
The Korean beauty superstore Aritaum has recently opened more than 60 stateside stores, with plans to extend their presence even more throughout the year. Aritaum actually loosely translates to “beauty place” in Korean, and they’ve got beauty nailed. The chain’s parent company is AmorePacific, a K-beauty brand that already has a huge presence in the U.S. — they’re known for their cushion compacts and BB creams.
AmorePacific actually already had a few stores in America, primarily in predominantly Korean neighborhoods, like Los Angeles’ Koreatown and New York’s Koreatown. However, those stores will soon be converted to Aritaum locations. They will be open-floor plan one-stop shops for haircare, makeup, and skincare from cult favorite K-beauty brands like Sulwhasoo and Laneige.
So now if you need snail cream, BB cream, a bubbling face mask, or an overnight sleep mask, you know where to go. We just hope they launch a loyalty program like Sephora’s soon, since we will be racking up the points!
