Here’s everything you need to know about Geminis, the rulers of the mental palace

Geminis, born between May 21st and June 21st, are the master communicators of the Zodiac, starting that fire under your feet and urging you to “do what you’re doing, but bigger and better.” Being around a Gemini is like being in another world, one where anything and everything is possible.

If a Gemini believes in something, you better bet it’s going to happen, and you better be ready to join in or miss something incredible in the process.

But don’t take our word for it. Amelia Quint — astrologer, writer, and founder of The Midheaven — says,

"Gemini rules the mind, so you can expect the overall focus to shift from material things you can touch and feel to the realm of ideas and thoughts. Just as sometimes our minds move faster than our actual bodies, the pace speeds up and can become a little frenetic. It's a good feeling if you do it right, like the buzz you get after seeing a great movie or going to the art museum, both of which are excellent Gemini season activities!"

Geminis have a keen sense of what is right, and there’s nothing you can do to change their mind about it. The thing is, you won’t want to, because it’s true.

Want to know some celebrities who are Geminis? Marilyn Monroe, Noami Campbell, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Natalie Portman, Prince, and Beyoncé’s twins. All legends, all Geminis, all better than us because of it.

Although Scorpios get one of the worst reputations in astrology (hello, they’re ruled by Pluto, the planet of death, transformation, and rebirth), their bad rep is only followed by that of Gemini (aka the twins). Gemini people are the freaks, the weirdos, the creatives who make this life so dang interesting. They’re the people who are “the worst,” but like, also actually the best.

This duality can be seen in the twins, Geminis symbol. Geminis get bored easily — like really easily — so there can be a bit of  hot and cold that plays out in the relationship. Again, twins, duh!

If you’ve seen The Shining, then you know what it’s like to run into a Gemini in the wild.

Amelia does make a point, though, saying that lately the sign has gotten an unusually bad rap. She explains,

"There's two ways that Gemini vibes can go wrong. The first is when they get unfocused and move too fast, and the second is when they rationalize something too much and don't consider how it might affect others emotionally. It's not malicious, it's just a different way of thinking! The best Geminis are people who channel their intellect into communicating something great, like Prince."

If Gemini season was a pattern, it would be a psychedelic print. You know that “summer of love” feeling you get when it’s warm outside, and the sun is shining just right, and you see an 80-year-old lady with pink hair who seems like she probably had the best summer ever in ’69? That’s pretty much all the Gemini energy. Designers like Emilio Pucci and Etro, with their bold hippie prints, embody this free-love feeling, which is the reason for the season!

Dressing and feeling like royalty is pretty much a Gemini’s baseline emotion at all times.

This Gemini season, plug into the energy around you, and let that lightbulb above your head keep going off! Gemini is all about creative energy and self-expression, so make time to let the universe channel through you as you ruminate on all the things you should do, create, and accomplish!

If you need any ideas for self-care, Amelia says, “Self-care for Gemini season is a lot different from any other time, simply because you feel better when you’re doing rather than resting. Instead of trying to tune out your thoughts during meditation, zoom in on what’s really on your mind. Gemini rules writing, so that can be a great way to clarify those emotions. It’s also the sign of conversation, so grab a friend and talk it out!”

This season, proceed with caution. Keep your feet on the ground while you blast off into the expansive and airy realm of Gemini season.
