Kit Harington was actually terrified of the “Battle of the Bastards” fight, and same
Game of Thrones features plenty of terrifying scenes. From grueling deaths to just plain scary-looking dudes, there’s plenty to fear. But it may be surprising to hear that Jon Snow himself was terrified during the epic Battle of the Bastards in Season 6.
Game of Thrones is one of the most intense shows on TV right now. And a lot of that has to do with the massive battle scenes where the characters we love could die at any moment. Season 6’s Battle of the Bastards was no exception. The battle featured our beloved Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) facing off against uber bad guy Ramsay Bolton (that guy is just #TheWorst!).
The two rushed towards each other with their armies and apparently, the fear Jon Snow experienced during the scene was actually felt by Kit while filming. It turns out, he’s not a huge fan of crowds–of which there were obviously A LOT of during this scene. Here’s what Kit had to say about the experience to the Belfast Telegraph:
“I’ve got a few fears, spiders being one of them, but the worst is my claustrophobia – I’m mortally afraid of crowds. I panic. It was one of the most terrifying things and most uncomfortable – 15 bearded Irishmen crushing you."
So we should be even more impressed that Jon Snow survived and took back Winterfell considering just how scary the whole experience was. Let’s hope Jon doesn’t get himself into any tough spots in Season 7 which premieres July 16.
