Kim Kardashian publicly opens up about her Paris robbery for the first time — and it will make you cry
It took a while for Kim Kardashian to make her way back to social media, and the media in general, after the terrifying night she was robbed in Paris. Her online presence is pretty much back to normal, but Kim hasn’t talked publicly about the Paris robbery since it happened. Until now.
In the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which aired on Sunday, Kim recounted the horrific details of the robbery that happened in her Paris hotel room last October. Aside from the robbers making off with $10 million worth of jewelry, the entire ordeal was incredibly traumatic for Kim. Which, of course, is to be expected.
"They ask for money. I said, 'I don't have any money,'" she recalled. "They dragged me out to the hallway, on top of the stairs. That's when I saw the gun clear as day. I was kind of looking at the gun. Looking down back at the stairs."
As she explained the incident to her sisters, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, she was completely overcome with emotion.
“I was like, I have a split-second in my mind to make this quick decision,” Kim said. “Am I gonna run down the stairs and like, either be shot in the back — it makes me so upset to think about it — but, either they’re gonna shoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator does not open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I’m…there’s no way out.”
We can’t even imagine what it must have been like for Kim in those moments, nor what it has been like for her dealing with the aftermath. Hopefully by telling her story, she is able to somewhat heal from the trauma.
