Kim Kardashian has a really refreshing attitude about nude selfies
The words “Kim Kardashian” and “nude selfies” sometimes seem like they go hand in hand, especially after the 35-year-old declared “nude selfies until I die” after winning the “Break The Internet” award at this year’s Webby awards. This reputation stems from a mirror selfie she posted back in March in which she’s completely naked aside from some strategically placed black bars. The internet was in an uproar about it, but when Kim appeared on the podcast Recode Decode today, she admitted that she still doesn’t understand why.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star told the podcast that she, “truly was baffled when people still cared. They have seen me naked 500 times!”
Her casual attitude towards her naked photos is the same reason why she takes them. “I just think it looks good,” she explains. “I am really not trying to cause a reaction.”
Kim thinks everyone should be free to make their own choices, and just because she lives her life a certain way doesn’t mean she expects everyone to do the same. “My personality has never been, ‘I’m such a feminist and follow me and be naked!..’” she explained. “If you are conservative and that’s how you are comfortable, more power to you. I respect you. You don’t have to look at what I do.”
Despite Kim’s affinity for baring all on social media — literally — the mother of two says now that she has a family, she’s actually become a little more reserved about what she posts, saying she keeps a good “30 percent” to herself.
We totally love Kim’s attitude, and get her philosophy that there’s no one way people should be living their lives. She has a lot of smart things to say in the podcast, so listen to the full episode over here!
